Connection Across Time: The Suez Canal


Today the Suez Canal is in complete control and ownership of Egypt, the canal connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. Three convoys a day use the canal and in 2003 it was reported that 17,224 ships had used the canal for transportation. The canal is very important today, around 8% of the worlds good travel through the Suez canal, as it avoids traveling around Africa a total of 4,00 miles saved and and two weeks time.
